VDM Accuses Dangote Group of Neglect in Case Involving Unlicensed Truck Driver and 22-Year-Old Graduate

Social commentator, VeryDarkMan (VDM), has once again sparked public outrage after revisiting a tragic incident involving the Dangote Group and the alleged negligence of its unlicensed truck drivers.
In a video posted on his official Facebook page, VDM recounted the heartbreaking story of Olurotimi Precious, a 22-year-old fresh graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, whose life and dreams were allegedly shattered after a road accident involving one of the company’s trucks.
Incident That Crushed a Bright Future
According to VDM, Precious’s promising career and aspirations were abruptly cut short when she was hit by a truck allegedly driven by an unlicensed Dangote driver. The incident, which reportedly left her incapacitated, has drawn widespread sympathy and anger from Nigerians online.
VDM alleged that after the incident, representatives of the Dangote Group visited Precious’s home, took photographs of her condition, and promised to offer assistance. However, he claimed that the company never returned to fulfil its commitments.
“This young woman’s parents invested years of hard work and sacrifice into her education, only for her dreams to be destroyed,” VDM lamented in his video. “Now, she is left without the future she deserved, and her family has been abandoned.”
Public Outrage Over Unlicensed Drivers
The revelation has reignited conversations about road safety and corporate responsibility in Nigeria, particularly regarding the use of unlicensed drivers in the haulage industry. Critics argue that companies as large as the Dangote Group should enforce stricter driver vetting and training processes to prevent avoidable tragedies.
Social media users have rallied behind Precious, demanding accountability from the Dangote Group and urging regulatory authorities to intervene. Calls for compensation, public apology, and reforms in driver recruitment have grown louder in the wake of VDM’s exposé.

This is not the first time VDM has accused the Dangote Group of failing to take responsibility for similar incidents involving its drivers. The activist has previously claimed that the company prioritises profit over human lives, a charge Dangote officials have denied in past statements.
