VDM, Sowore, and Okwuluora Nominated for 2025 Social Crusader of the Year at 7th LEEX Awards
Three prominent voices in Nigeria’s civic and social space — VeryDarkMan (VDM), Omoyele Sowore, and Okwuluora — have been nominated for the prestigious Social Crusader of the Year category at the forthcoming 7th Leadership Excellence Awards (LEEX).
Organised by Igbere TV and endorsed by both the African Union and the African Film Institute, the annual LEEX Awards celebrate outstanding individuals and institutions making significant contributions to national development, social justice, and public enlightenment.
The 2025 edition will see the Social Crusader of the Year award keenly contested by VDM, a vocal social media activist known for his fearless exposés; Sowore, human rights advocate and publisher of Sahara Reporters; and Okwuluora, a broadcaster and public affairs commentator with a strong grassroots following.
Voting for the category opens on 14 August 2025, with the public invited to participate in determining who will be honoured at the ceremony.
Since its inception, the Leadership Excellence Awards has grown into a continental platform recognising integrity, leadership, and the pursuit of positive change, with its endorsement by the AU adding further weight to its credibility.
The winners will be unveiled at the awards gala later in the year, in an event expected to attract key figures from politics, entertainment, civil society, and the business community.
