Viral Video Sparks Debate as Frustrated Single Father Seeks Help From Women to Raise Infant Daughter

A viral video circulating on social media has sparked intense public debate after a man, who describes himself as a “frustrated single father,” openly appealed for help from single mothers or divorced women to assist him in raising his infant daughter.

The video, shared by E Don Happen TV, shows the emotional father recounting how his girlfriend allegedly abandoned him with their baby when the child was just two weeks old, leaving him overwhelmed and uncertain about how to cope alone.

According to Akahi News, the man explained that caring for the newborn has made it nearly impossible for him to work or carry out daily activities, as the baby cries constantly despite his efforts.

“My girlfriend left me with a two-week-old baby. The child has been crying nonstop. I can’t work, I can’t do anything,” he said in the video.

He revealed that the pressure eventually pushed him into taking a drastic decision. Two days before recording the video, he said he took the baby to an orphanage so he could regain control of his life.

“I took her to an orphanage home so I could do what I want to do,” he added.

Guilt and Emotional Breakdown

However, the father admitted that the decision deeply affected him emotionally. He disclosed that after returning home without his baby, he was overwhelmed with guilt and could not sleep throughout the night.

Akahi News gathered that the emotional burden became too heavy for him to bear, prompting a change of heart the following day.

“The day I took her there and got home, I couldn’t sleep. The next day, I went back and carried my baby. I no go fit oo. I carried my baby oo,” he said, expressing regret and emotional pain.

Appeal for Help From Women

Following his experience, the man made a public appeal, asking single women, single mothers, or divorced women who are willing to come and help him raise the child. He stated that he is ready to provide for the woman financially while she assists with caring for the baby.

According to Akahi News, his appeal has generated mixed reactions online, with opinions sharply divided.

Mixed Reactions From the Public

Some social media users expressed sympathy for the man, acknowledging the emotional and physical strain of raising a child alone, especially an infant.

One commentator wrote, “Parenting is not a joke, especially alone. I pray he gets real help.”

Others, however, criticised the appeal, accusing the man of attempting to turn a woman into a full-time caregiver under the guise of assistance.

Another reaction read, “Single father in the making, you all will know how it feels,” suggesting that the experience mirrors what many single mothers endure without support.

Broader Conversation on Single Parenting

Observers note that the viral video has reopened conversations around single parenting, gender expectations, and the lack of structured support systems for struggling parents. While some argue that the man’s honesty reflects desperation rather than ill intent, others insist that parenting responsibilities should not be transferred to another person simply because of emotional strain.

As the debate continues, Akahi News learnt that many are calling for practical solutions, including counselling, family intervention, and social welfare support, rather than online appeals that may expose both the father and child to further criticism.

For now, the video remains a stark reminder of the realities and pressures of single parenthood, regardless of gender, and the urgent need for empathy, support, and responsible decision-making.
