Yuletide: FHA Executive Distributes Food, Livestock to Over 5,700 Osun Residents
Thousands of vulnerable residents across selected communities in Osun State benefited from a yuletide outreach programme organised by the Executive Director (Project Implementation) of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Mr Remi Omowaiye, who distributed food items, livestock and cash support as part of efforts to ease hardship during the festive season.

Outreach Targets Children, Women and the Vulnerable
Akahi News gathered that no fewer than 5,750 beneficiaries, including children, women, the elderly and other less-privileged individuals, received assorted food items and livestock during the exercise, which spanned several towns across the state.
According to a statement made available to Journalists in Osogbo, the initiative was driven by what Omowaiye described as a desire to spread love and provide relief to vulnerable residents in the spirit of Christmas and the New Year.
Ilesa, Osogbo, Others Get Major Share
The FHA official disclosed that about 3,000 livestock — including chickens, turkeys and beef — were distributed to beneficiaries in Ilesa and neighbouring communities, with a particular focus on women and the aged.
In addition, 250 bags of rice were reportedly shared alongside cash support to another category of beneficiaries across the state.
Omowaiye also explained that the outreach formed part of the annual Ilerioluwa/AMBO Christmas Show, which held in four locations — Osogbo, Ilesa, Ikoti and Ifewara — reaching over 2,500 children.
Gesture Linked to Welfare Advocacy
Speaking on the motivation behind the initiative, Omowaiye said the outreach was rooted in his long-standing interest in social welfare and poverty alleviation. He added that the gesture was also meant to reassure residents that the Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, remains concerned about the wellbeing of the less privileged.
“They were given food packs with chicken and rice. The intention is to spread love and to let vulnerable residents know that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu cares for them,” he said.
Sustaining the Spirit of Giving
Omowaiye further noted that the programme was organised in the name of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, stressing that similar initiatives would continue within available resources.
Observers say such community-based interventions have become increasingly important amid rising economic pressures, particularly during festive periods when vulnerable households often struggle to meet basic needs.
Akahi News learnt that beneficiaries across the affected communities described the gesture as timely, calling for sustained collaboration between public office holders and grassroots organisations to deepen social support initiatives in the state.
