ADC Unveils Delta State Chapter, Vows to ‘Rescue Nigeria’ from Economic Hardship Ahead of 2027 Elections
Effurun, Delta State – August 10, 2025

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially launched its Delta State chapter, declaring its mission to “rescue Nigeria” from what it described as the economic challenges and leadership failures of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area, the party’s National Chief Whip, Mr Festus Igbinoba, said the urgent need for a political alternative informed the ADC’s expansion drive ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We are here today to officially unveil Delta State chapter of the ADC so as to rescue Nigeria from the shackles of economic challenges we are facing now,” Igbinoba said. “With ADC, Nigeria will be repositioned for a better future, because APC and PDP have failed Nigerians woefully.”
The event also saw the formal reception of new members defecting from various political parties. Igbinoba urged the fresh entrants to return to their wards and “propagate the gospel of ADC” across Delta State.
Delta Central Coordinator of the ADC, Julius Efeni Akpovoka, described the unveiling as “a welcome development” and assured members that the party would remain steadfast in its bid to take over both the state and national governments.
“By the special grace of God, ADC will take over Delta State and the national level,” Akpovoka stated. “We will continue to remain committed to ensuring that the dream of repositioning Nigeria for a better future will be guaranteed.”
