AMKO Properties Scandal Deepens as Sacked Employee Publishes Explosive Allegations Online
Kenya’s real estate sector has been shaken by a scandal that has thrust AMKO Properties into the spotlight after a recently dismissed employee took to TikTok to publish startling allegations of coerced romantic affairs with senior company executives.
Rose Wangui, who posted under the handle @ka.wanjohi11, has openly claimed she was involved with the firm’s CEO, the Human Resources Director, and another senior executive—individuals she accuses of using their authority to pressure her into intimate relationships that, she alleges, were tied to her job security.

Wangui’s Explosive Confession and Why She Spoke Out
In her videos, Wangui alleged that she “rotated beds” among the three executives because she believed doing so would help her keep her desk by Monday morning.
However, she said she was shocked when she was dismissed in August, despite what she described as compliance under pressure.
Akahi News gathered that the sacked employee released screenshots, audio clips, videos, hotel bookings, and receipts which she claims document her encounters with the top officials.
She alleged that the relationships, which reportedly began in 2021, were not truly consensual, arguing that the power imbalance and workplace culture made it nearly impossible to refuse demands from her superiors.
AMKO’s Dismissal Claim Sparks More Questions
The company, in her termination letter, cited poor performance and misconduct as reasons for her dismissal.
However, in a counter-video, Wangui presented an internal appraisal document showing she brought in KES 52 million worth of business in 2024—far higher than a colleague who reportedly generated KES 45 million. While she did not meet the full target of KES 62 million, she argued that her performance was being deliberately misrepresented.
According to her, her dismissal came shortly after she refused to continue the alleged intimate relationships with the CEO and the HR Director.
Allegations of a “Predatory System”
In a series of posts, Wangui described what she called a “predatory system” at AMKO Properties:
- She said the CEO allegedly began pursuing her under the guise of mentorship.
- She accused the HR Director—known online for preaching mental health and ethical leadership—of using his role in the hiring and appraisal process to manipulate her.
- She posted chats involving a senior manager arranging meetings, which she argues shows coordinated exploitation.
Wangui insisted that the situation was neither voluntary nor ethical, noting that she feared job loss, professional humiliation, and retaliation.
She further claimed other women in the company had faced similar scenarios.
Executives Go Silent as Social Media Pressure Mounts
The accused officials are yet to comment publicly.
But Akahi News learnt that Wangui shared a screenshot of a message allegedly from one of the executives attempting to arrange a meeting after her first TikTok video went viral. She declined the meeting, responding with:
“The ship has sailed.”
The executive, according to her post, threatened legal action and asked her to stop dragging the company online. Wangui replied that she was willing to bring all her evidence to court.
Meanwhile, the HR Director—previously vocal about ethics and mental health on LinkedIn—has now made his profile private.
Public Reactions and Calls for Investigation
The allegations have generated widespread outrage in Kenya, with many demanding:
- A formal investigation into AMKO Properties,
- Transparency from the company’s leadership, and
- Protection for whistleblowers who come forward with workplace abuse allegations.
Human-rights groups and employment-rights advocates are urging Wangui to file an official complaint with:
- The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
- The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC)
Analysts believe the scandal, if verified, could trigger significant legal, ethical, and corporate-governance consequences for AMKO Properties.
Conclusion
As more clips, screenshots, and audio files continue to surface, the scandal appears far from over.
Observers say the unfolding case underscores the urgent need for stronger safeguards against workplace exploitation, particularly where powerful executives wield inappropriate influence over vulnerable employees.
For now, the public awaits an official response from AMKO Properties—and possibly the beginning of a legal battle that could expose more details about the company’s internal culture.
