APC Stakeholders in Otu Ward, Kabba/Bunu LGA Intensify Voter Registration Mobilisation Efforts
By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News
Stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Otu Ward, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State have pledged to intensify mobilisation efforts to ensure maximum participation in the ongoing voter registration exercise.

This resolution was reached during a high-level meeting held on Wednesday, 10th September 2025, where party leaders, elders, ward executives, and grassroots mobilisers gathered to strategise on achieving a comprehensive voter registration campaign across the ward.
Mobilising Resources for a Successful Exercise
At the meeting, stakeholders emphasised the critical importance of ensuring that no eligible voter in Otu Ward is left out of the registration process. To demonstrate their commitment, several party members voluntarily contributed financial resources to support the exercise.
A dedicated committee, under the coordination of the Ward Chairman, Hon. Olorunsaiye Sunday, was immediately constituted to oversee the effective use of these resources. The committee will work closely with the ward leadership to ensure that logistics, sensitisation, and mobilisation efforts are adequately funded and well-coordinated.
According to the stakeholders, the ultimate goal is for Otu Ward to set a benchmark for voter registration turnout not only within Kabba/Bunu LGA but across Kogi State.
Recalling Otu Ward’s Electoral Legacy
Speakers at the meeting highlighted Otu Ward’s long-standing record of outstanding performance in past elections. They noted that the ward had consistently delivered strong electoral results for the APC, reflecting its position as a strategic base of support within the local government.
In line with this tradition, stakeholders resolved that the ward must not only maintain but surpass its previous electoral records, beginning with the voter registration exercise.
They underscored that voter registration serves as the bedrock of electoral participation and democratic representation, noting that without adequate voter mobilisation, even the strongest party structures could be undermined during elections.
Unity and Renewed Hope Agenda Take Centre Stage
The meeting also highlighted the need for unity among party members to achieve the desired goals. The stakeholders reaffirmed their loyalty to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the APC-led government, pledging to translate its principles into concrete grassroots political engagement.
It was resolved that a follow-up meeting would be held with the Ward Executive to review progress and introduce additional strategies where necessary. The ultimate objective is to ensure Otu Ward records the highest voter registration turnout in Kabba/Bunu LGA.
Commitment from Stakeholders
Among those present were prominent figures such as Pastor Samuel Ajinuhi (Ward Leader), Chief Julius Arokoyo (Leader Emeritus), Hon. Olorunsaiye Sunday (Party Chairman), Hon. Lola Otitoyomi (Ward Councillor), Mrs. Olabisi Iluromi, Abiodun Johnson, Hon. Sunday Jajah, Hon. Dade Bright, Hon. Ben Olorunfemi, Mr. Clement Akadi (Ward Elder), Chief Olugbemi Femi, Mrs. Esther Peter (Women Leader), Rev. Olorunfemi Maiye, and other ward executives.
The gathering concluded with a unanimous commitment to sustained mobilisation efforts, the strengthening of party unity, and the consolidation of Otu Ward’s strategic role in shaping the political direction of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area and Kogi State as a whole.
