In a statement signed by its Convener, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, the group described the recent developments as a historic turning point, ensuring Nigeria’s natural resources are harnessed for the benefit of its citizens.

ATT highlighted the establishment of Nigeria’s first lithium processing plant in Nasarawa State, along with other factories across the country, as a testament to the administration’s commitment to value addition and local beneficiation. The group noted that this strategic approach would not only generate significant national revenue but also create thousands of jobs, stimulate economic growth, and empower local communities.

“We applaud President Tinubu’s leadership in banning the export of unprocessed lithium, a decision that underscores his determination to break the cycle of economic dependency and exploitation,” the statement read. “By insisting on local processing and value addition, we are poised to reap the full benefits of our mineral wealth.”

The group also praised the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Henry Dele Alake, for his pivotal role in driving the reforms. According to ATT, his efforts in bringing transparency, structure, and discipline to the sector have attracted major investments and laid a strong foundation for success.

Calling on stakeholders nationwide to support the initiative, ATT stressed that Nigeria’s path to prosperity lies in harnessing its resources through innovation, resilience, and a firm commitment to economic independence.
