A massive fire outbreak has been reported at Central Plaza, near Mandilas Market on Lagos Island, sparking panic among traders and residents in the busy commercial hub.
According to information gathered by Akahi News, the fire reportedly started from a store located on the 4th floor of the multi-storey plaza before spreading rapidly down to the ground floor, consuming goods and threatening neighbouring shops.
Firefighters Battling Flames
Eyewitnesses confirmed that two fire trucks from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service are already on site battling the inferno. However, the flames are yet to be brought under control as thick smoke continues to billow into the sky, raising fears of extensive property damage.
Some traders were seen desperately trying to salvage their goods, while others watched helplessly as the blaze intensified despite the efforts of firefighters.
