Cross River Works Commissioner, Hon. Pius Ankpo Edet, Honoured with NSE Fellowship Award

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has conferred its prestigious Fellowship Award on the Cross River State Commissioner for Works, Hon. Pius Ankpo Edet, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the engineering profession and national development.
Prestigious Recognition for Engineering Excellence
The high-profile event, held on 22nd October 2025 in Kano State, was presided over by the President and Chairman-in-Council of the NSE. It brought together an eminent gathering of engineers, government officials, industry leaders, and dignitaries who witnessed the elevation of distinguished professionals to the society’s highest professional rank — the Fellowship.

In her opening remarks, Engr. Kamila Wopa Maliki, FNSE, mni, Chairman of the Board of Fellows, commended the commitment and professional integrity of the new Fellows. She described them as role models whose dedication continues to uphold the core values of engineering excellence and innovation in Nigeria.
A Testament to Service and Dedication
Speaking to journalists shortly after the ceremony, Hon. Pius Ankpo Edet expressed profound gratitude to God, his family, and the government of Cross River State for their unwavering support throughout his professional journey.
He dedicated the honour to His Excellency, Governor Prince Bassey Otu, his family, colleagues, and the entire people of Cross River State, describing the award as a reflection of their collective effort and encouragement.
“I see this not just as a personal achievement but as a recognition of the progress our state has made under the visionary leadership of Governor Otu,” he said.

The Fellowship conferment marks another milestone in the NSE’s continuous efforts to promote capacity building, professionalism, and leadership within the engineering community. The Society reiterated its commitment to national development through technological innovation and infrastructural excellence.
