Cross River’s Former Attorney General, Tanko Ashang, to Be Laid to Rest on October 26, 2024
The burial date for former Attorney General of Cross River State, Tanko Ashang, SAN, has been set for Saturday, October 26, 2024. Ashang, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, passed away on October 8, 2024, in Abuja while preparing for work.
The funeral proceedings will begin on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, with a requiem mass in his honor at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Maitama, Abuja. The mass is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
On Friday, October 25, 2024, a valedictory court session will be held at the High Court of Cross River State in Obudu, beginning at 4 p.m. This will be followed by a wake at his residence in Sankwala, Obanliku Local Government Area, from 6 p.m.
The final farewell will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024, with a funeral mass at the Mater Redemptoris Catholic Church, Sankwala, at 9 a.m., immediately followed by interment. The funeral rites will conclude with a thanksgiving mass on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the same church.
