Dr. Paul and Mrs. Franca Oyebiyi Deliver Inspiring Lecture on “Married Couples as Ministers of Grace” at Marriage and Family Life Training Programme.

Ede, Osun State — In a profound and spirit-filled session at the recently concluded Marriage and Family Life Training Programme held at the Pastoral Center, Ede, Osun State, Dr. Paul Oyebiyi and his wife, Mrs. Franca Oyebiyi, delivered a deeply insightful lecture on the theme: “Married Couples as Ministers of Grace.”
The lecture, which drew a large and attentive audience of married couples, clergy, and family life facilitators, emphasized the sacred role that husbands and wives play in ministering to one another within the bond of Christian marriage.
Speaking during the session, Mrs. Franca Oyebiyi drew inspiration from sacred scripture, quoting Ephesians 5:21-33 and 1 Peter 3:1-7. She highlighted the importance of mutual respect, submission, and love, underscoring that these virtues are foundational in any marriage that seeks to reflect the grace of God.
“Married couples can be ministers of grace to each other,” she said, “by offering emotional, spiritual, and practical support. In doing so, they help one another grow not only in their marital relationship but also in their personal relationship with God.”
Dr. Paul Oyebiyi echoed this sentiment, adding that when couples see their relationship as a divine vocation, they become instruments of God’s love, peace, and healing in their homes and communities.
Participants described the lecture as eye-opening, enriching, and deeply rooted in both scripture and pastoral experience. The event forms part of the ongoing efforts by the Marriage and Family Life Commission to strengthen marriages and promote Christian family values across dioceses in Nigeria.
