Quoting the Psalmist, “Your word is a lamp for my steps and a light for my path,” Fr Adeyemi called on believers to rely on God’s word as the source of direction in life. He emphasised the importance of remaining steadfast in faith and obedience, saying, “I have sworn and have made up my mind to obey your decrees. Accept, Lord, the homage of my lips and teach me your decrees.”

A Prayer of Thanksgiving and Love

In his morning reflection, Fr Adeyemi expressed gratitude for God’s protection throughout the night, describing the peaceful rest as a gift worth acknowledging. “As we begin our day,” he prayed, “take to yourself our cares, our hopes and our needs.”

He further urged Christians to deepen their love for God and neighbour, reminding all that the commandment of love remains central to the Christian journey.

Divine Protection and Fruitfulness for the Day

Seeking God’s presence in daily activities, the parish priest prayed for divine protection, success, and peace for everyone going about their duties and businesses. “Grant us your protection and keep us from all distress,” he prayed. “Make our efforts today fruitful and successful, and after our activities, may we have many reasons to glorify your holy name.”

The prayer concluded in the name of Christ, offering intentions for all who seek God’s blessings this day.

Good morning my dear people of God.

Your word is a lamp for my steps and a light for my path. I have sworn and have made up my mind to obey your decrees. Accept, Lord, the homage of my lips and teach me your decrees.

Let us pray:
God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory, early in the morning, we offer our prayer of thanksgiving to begin our day in your name. Thank you for granting us a peaceful night rest devoid of stress and nightmares. As we begin our day, take to yourself our cares, our hopes and our needs.

Lord Jesus, you commanded us to love you and our neighbours as ourselves, deepen in us our love for you today, so that in all things we may find our good, and the good of others.

Merciful God, as we go out this day for our official duties and businesses, let your divine presence go with us. Grant us your your protection and keep us from all distress.
Make our efforts today fruitful and successful. After our activities of this day, may we have many reasons to glorify your holy name.
