Lagos Police Clear Pastor Paul Adefarasin of Firearm Allegation, Say Object Was a Stun Gun
By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News
LAGOS – The Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday cleared the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, of allegations that he brandished a firearm in public.

The controversy stemmed from a viral clip recorded in June 2025, where the cleric was seen holding what appeared to be a handgun while driving in traffic. The video led to widespread speculation that he was allegedly pointing the weapon at a TikToker who captured the footage.
Pastor Adefarasin Denied Allegation
Pastor Adefarasin swiftly denied the claims at the time, insisting that the object was not a firearm. The allegations, however, drew significant public attention, with calls for an investigation into the incident.
Police Investigation Clears Cleric
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the investigation had been concluded and that the cleric had been cleared of wrongdoing.
“A thorough investigation was conducted, during which the clergyman was interrogated and provided a cautionary statement,” Adebisi said.
He further explained that findings revealed the object was a stun gun, a non-lethal self-defence device, and not a firearm as widely speculated.
“Consequent on our findings, the command has determined that there are no sufficient grounds to proceed with the matter. The case is hereby discontinued,” Adebisi added.
Case Officially Closed
With the police confirming that the object was non-lethal and no criminal intent was established, the case against Pastor Adefarasin has been officially closed, bringing an end to months of speculation over the viral video.
