Today’s liturgy reminds us of the power of prayer, unity, perseverance, and hope in Christ.
📖 In the First Reading (Acts 1:12-14), the Apostles gathered in unity with the Blessed Virgin Mary in prayer as they awaited the coming of the Holy Spirit. It is a powerful reminder that God strengthens those who wait upon Him faithfully.
🎵 The Responsorial Psalm (Psalm 27) proclaims deep trust in God: “I believe I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Even in difficult times, believers are encouraged to seek God’s face with confidence and courage.
📖 In the Second Reading (1 Peter 4:13-16), Christians are encouraged to rejoice even in suffering for the sake of Christ, knowing that God’s glory rests upon those who remain faithful through trials.
📖 The Gospel Reading (John 17:1-11a) presents Jesus praying for His disciples before His Passion. Christ prays for unity, protection, and eternal life for all who belong to Him — a message that remains deeply relevant in today’s divided world.
