NDDC Commissioner Orok Duke Mourns Late Sportsman Orok Edwards Imaha, Describes Him as a Man of Vitality and Discipline

The Commissioner representing Cross River State on the Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Rt. Hon. Chief Orok Otu Duke, PhD, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Orok Edwards Imaha, describing him as a man of vibrant spirit, discipline, and commitment to the development of sports in Cross River State.
Orok Edwards Imaha passed away on 24 August 2025, at the age of 59, leaving the city of Calabar in mourning. His demise drew together family members, close friends, and the sporting community, who gathered to honour his life and contributions.
A Tribute to a Life of Purpose
In a touching tribute, Dr Duke described Imaha as “a sportsman,” adding a reflective reminder about the importance of health and well-being.
“Orok Edwards Imaha was a sportsman,” he said. “We should always check on our health because of complications that come with age.”

Born on 4 September 1965, Imaha’s life was one of vitality and purpose. The burial service, held on Wednesday, became more than a farewell; it was a celebration of his enduring contributions to fitness, camaraderie, and the spirit of community sportsmanship.
