Police Apprehend Notorious Suspect in Idah
Police operatives in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State have arrested one Umoru Faruk Unusah, a suspected criminal allegedly notorious for vandalising government infrastructure.

Akahi News gathered that the suspect was reportedly caught red-handed while attempting to steal cable wires from a solar-powered streetlight, a vital public facility serving the community.
Incident Raises Concerns Over Infrastructure Vandalism
According to residents, this latest incident is not the first time public facilities in the area have been targeted by vandals. Many communities have previously lamented the destruction of government projects, ranging from boreholes to street lighting systems, leaving citizens in darkness and jeopardising security at night.
Observers believe that the prompt arrest of Unusah might serve as a deterrent to others engaging in similar criminal activities across the state.
Police Promise Further Investigation
Police sources confirmed that investigations are ongoing to ascertain whether the suspect has accomplices or links to a broader network responsible for vandalising public infrastructure in Kogi State. Authorities have assured the public that appropriate legal action will be taken following the investigation.
The arrest has, however, sparked renewed calls for community policing and stricter enforcement to protect public assets.
