This strong representation by Cross River State underscores the commitment of its local government leaders to effective grassroots governance.
Why Undiandeye Stands Out
The LOGMA award, celebrated nationwide, recognises exceptional leadership, innovation, and service delivery across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.

Hon. Undiandeye’s nomination is particularly significant, as his leadership in Obudu has been hailed for its people-centred policies and developmental strides. His administration has recorded commendable achievements in:
- Road and rural integration projects, easing mobility and trade within communities.
- Agricultural support initiatives, designed to empower farmers and enhance food security.
- Promotion of peace, harmony, and unity, ensuring stability and inclusiveness in governance.
Stakeholders and residents of Obudu widely regard the nomination as a well-deserved honour that reflects his visionary governance style.
A Dedication to the People
Reacting to the nomination, Hon. Undiandeye expressed deep appreciation to the people of Obudu, stating that their trust and support remain the driving force behind his successes.
He dedicated the recognition to the citizens of the local government, pledging to intensify his commitment to the People First Agenda of Governor Bassey Edet Otu’s administration. According to him, Obudu will continue to serve as a model of progressive and accountable local governance in Cross River State.
National Event in Abuja
The Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award ceremony is scheduled to take place later this year in Abuja. The event will attract distinguished personalities from across the federation, where deserving council chairmen will be formally decorated for their outstanding service to grassroots governance.
For Cross River, this collective recognition of its council leaders is not only a source of pride but also an opportunity to further strengthen local government administration as the closest tier of governance to the people.
