The Parish Priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Pro-Cathedral, Lagere, Ile-Ife, Rev. Fr Peter Adeyemi, has called on Christians to begin their day with thanksgiving, faith, and renewed commitment to God’s will. Delivering his daily morning reflection for Tuesday, 26th August 2025, Fr Adeyemi urged the faithful to embrace humility and gratitude as the foundation for a fruitful day.
Thanksgiving for Life and Good Health
In his message, Fr Adeyemi expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and good health, stressing that these blessings often surpass human expectations. He reminded the faithful that waking up each morning is an opportunity to recognise God’s goodness and to offer heartfelt thanks.
Seeking Divine Wisdom and Guidance
The cleric prayed that God, the source of all good things, would inspire believers with good intentions and strengthen them with the willpower to fulfil those intentions. He further asked the Lord to remove whatever is harmful from people’s lives and grant them only what contributes to their wellbeing and spiritual growth.
Call to Commitment and Kindness
Fr Adeyemi also encouraged Christians to carry out their daily responsibilities with dedication while showing kindness to those they meet. He prayed for the success of businesses and endeavours, asking God’s presence to guide and protect His people throughout the day.
The reflection concluded with a prayer offered through Christ, committing the day and the intentions of the faithful into God’s hands.

Good morning my dear people of God.
O God, come to our aid, o Lord make haste to help us. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Let us pray:
God our loving Father, with faith and humility, we thank you for the gift of this new day. We are grateful for the gift of life and good health to live comfortably. Thank you for your goodness to us that surpasses our human expectations. All we have to say is thank you Lord.
Lord God, source of all good things, inspire us with good intentions and the will power to implement them this day.
In your infinite wisdom take away from us all that is harmful and give us all the things that will be for our good and wellbeing.
Merciful God, give us the grace to carry out our duties with commitment and be kind in dealing with those who will encounter us this day. Bless our businesses and make them thrive. May your divine presence go with us to guide and protect us wherever we may go this day.
