Viral Video Shows Thief Forced to Demonstrate Break-In on Aluminium Window

A video circulating on social media has captured a thief being compelled to demonstrate how he broke into an apartment by damaging an aluminium window.

The clip, shared on X by user @ChuksEricE, shows the suspect using an iron tool to force open the window before gaining entry. During the encounter, he was also whipped and flogged.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions online. User @VivianRora questioned the treatment, saying, “Why are they dehumanizing him? 😆 people on X said we shouldn’t dehumanize.” @THE_CRAFT3R noted the dangers of theft in Nigeria, commenting, “Being a thief in Nigeria, in this era has to be the deadliest job on planet earth. People are ready to inflict untold pain on a thief, due to the anger from bad leadership and the harsh economy.”

Other reactions included @StackedSam observing that “Some of them shouting are actually learning from him,” while @Honormeh_aganga reflected on broader societal issues: “Is this pure wickedness in the hearts of some Nigerians, or just the fallout of a failed government? Because why would anyone destroy another person’s property?”

The video has drawn attention for highlighting both the severity of theft and the public’s harsh response amid frustrations over governance and economic hardship.
