Woman Dies After Alleged Beating by Husband in Ekiti State

A woman identified as Modupe Alasin has reportedly died following a brutal beating by her husband in Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State, over alleged lateness to farm.
A witness, who preferred to remain anonymous, recounted that Modupe screamed and begged for mercy as her husband flogged her repeatedly. After some time, the husband reportedly instructed her to fetch water from a nearby stream, but she slumped and died beside it due to exhaustion and weakness.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, SP Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident, stating that the husband had been arrested for further investigation.
Authorities are expected to carry out a thorough investigation into the case, which has sparked concern over domestic violence and spousal abuse in the region.
