As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, the Oyetola Consultative Forum (OCF) has officially endorsed the candidature of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

At a high-profile gathering held in Osogbo on Wednesday, no fewer than 1,500 local government and ward coordinators pledged their support to mobilise grassroots voters across the state in favour of Oyebamiji’s ambition.

OCF Backs Oyebamiji for APC Ticket

Addressing the gathering, the convener of OCF and former Deputy Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Olanike Omoworare, described Oyebamiji as a leader with impeccable credentials and integrity, noting that his track record of service in the state was “unsurpassable.”

According to Omoworare, the forum was initially established to support former Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s second-term bid and to resolve internal party disputes. However, its mandate has now expanded to strengthening the APC’s political structure ahead of the next gubernatorial contest.

“We have inaugurated 1,500 coordinators across the state who will, in turn, mobilise at every polling unit to ensure victory for Oyebamiji,” she said. “The people of Osun know him well. He has served as Commissioner for Finance and as Managing Director of the Osun State Investment Company Limited. His credibility and dedication to service are unquestionable.”

APC Leaders Laud Oyebamiji’s Qualities

Other APC stalwarts at the event, including former House of Representatives member Hon. Abdulgafar Amere and party chieftain Otunba Femi Aborisade, praised Oyebamiji’s leadership qualities, describing him as a unifying figure with the capacity to lead Osun to greater heights.

Aborisade stated, “He understands the needs of Osun citizens and has the competence, prudence, and political will to meet them. He is the kind of leader APC needs to secure victory in 2026.”

The event was attended by several prominent APC figures, including former members of the Osun State House of Assembly, past commissioners, and grassroots political leaders, all expressing their readiness to rally behind Oyebamiji’s candidacy.

Towards 2026: APC’s Roadmap for Victory

With the party primaries fast approaching, the Oyetola Consultative Forum’s endorsement is expected to boost Oyebamiji’s chances significantly. Observers note that his extensive experience in governance and finance, coupled with his reputation for integrity, positions him as a strong contender for the APC ticket.

Party leaders at the event vowed to continue grassroots mobilisation efforts across all wards and polling units to ensure a landslide victory for the APC in the 2026 elections.
