Local media revealed that two of the victims were accused by the gang of stealing four kilograms of cocaine, a claim authorities believe triggered the killings.

Police confirmed the disturbing livestream was viewed by dozens before the executions took place, leaving viewers traumatised and sparking calls for stricter digital monitoring laws.

Chilling Details Emerge from Investigation

Investigators disclosed harrowing details of the victims’ suffering before their deaths:

  • Lara Gutierrez reportedly had all five fingers on her left hand amputated.
  • Brenda del Castillo suffered a fractured skull, with her stomach cut open.
  • Morena Verdi was asphyxiated with a plastic bag, which remained over her head when her body was discovered.

Authorities said the victims were last seen entering a vehicle, believing they were attending an event, but instead walked into a deadly trap.

Drug Cartel Leader on the Run

Buenos Aires Security Minister Javier Alonso confirmed that the bodies were found buried in a garden linked to the drug trafficking network, whose operational base was in Buenos Aires.

“The drug trafficking organisation used this house to carry out the murders,” Alonso stated, adding that the alleged gang leader, a Peruvian national, had fled the country and is now the subject of an international manhunt.

So far, four suspects have been arrested, while security agencies continue to track down others connected to the crimes.

Nationwide Reaction and Ongoing Probe

The brutality of the case has shocked Argentina, with human rights groups and women’s rights advocates calling for urgent reforms to protect vulnerable individuals from criminal gangs.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing as they work to dismantle the cartel and bring all perpetrators to justice.
