In his moving piece, Friday praised Peters for his unwavering commitment to humanity and youth development, noting that the respected community leader has consistently chosen to serve without political titles or positions of authority. According to him, Peters’ influence and compassion extend across communities and boundaries, cutting through divides and uniting people through his humanitarian gestures.

“He has never needed an office to validate his worth. He has never needed political power to extend his hands of kindness. Instead, he has chosen to lay down his access, his connections, and his influence, not for personal gain, but for the advancement of the young people of Cross River State,” Awade Friday wrote.

Highlighting Peters’ humility, Friday described him as a man who can “sit with kings and still break bread with the common man,” stressing that his greatness lies in his simplicity and accessibility.

For the younger generation, Friday maintained that High Chief Higgins Peters is more than a benefactor. He is a father, mentor, and protector who has dedicated his life to lifting others, shining a light of hope, and shaping a future where youths can thrive.

Friday’s tribute concluded with a call on Cross River youths and the larger society to protect and honour Peters for his sacrifices and rare leadership qualities.

“All hail the Jagaban of Cross River State. All hail the Builder of Men. All hail High Chief Higgins Peters, the bridge that cannot be broken,” the author declared.
