‘Come Back Goodluck Jonathan’ Rally Rocks PDP Headquarters in Abuja
By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News
Supporters of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Tuesday staged a rally at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Headquarters in Abuja, calling on him to return and contest for the presidency.

The rally, tagged “Come Back GEJ”, drew attention after chants of “GEJ, GEJ everywhere” echoed across the venue, with placards urging the former leader to heed what they described as “Nigeria’s call to serve again.”
Observers note that Jonathan, while previously debunking a fake Instagram post attributed to him — allegedly created in connection with singer Wizkid’s account — has not publicly dismissed growing speculations about his possible second coming. His attendance at the last PDP convention, where he stated that he “saw Nigeria calling him to serve again,” has further fuelled the movement.

Supporters argue that the North has learnt its lesson and is now backing Jonathan’s return as a unifying figure amid current political and economic challenges.
Though Jonathan has yet to formally declare his intentions, the Abuja rally underscores mounting pressure within the PDP for his re-entry into frontline politics, with many seeing him as a stabilising force capable of reclaiming the party’s electoral strength.
