IPOB ESN Commander Allegedly Shoots Three Members Over ‘Unauthorised’ Robbery in Anambra
By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News
Tension has gripped parts of Anambra State following reports that a commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra’s Eastern Security Network (IPOB-ESN), identified as Ifeanyi Eze, popularly known as Gentle the Yahoo, allegedly shot three of his own men for engaging in what he described as “unauthorised” robbery.

Local sources told journalists that the shocking incident occurred after the ESN members carried out a robbery without the approval of their leader. Gentle reportedly confronted them and, in a bid to assert control, opened fire, leaving three of them critically injured.

One eyewitness expressed dismay at the development, saying: “I told them that one day even those wey dey support Nnamdi Kanu and his Biafra will no longer safe.”
The incident has sparked renewed fear among residents, who say internal clashes and criminal activities within IPOB-ESN camps continue to pose a grave security threat in the South East. Security experts note that the development underscores the growing lawlessness within the ranks of the separatist group.

As at press time, security agencies were yet to officially confirm the shooting, but community members have called for urgent government intervention to restore peace and protect innocent residents from escalating violence.
