Cross River APC Celebrates Deputy Speaker Sylvester Agabi Jnr on His Birthday, Hails His Leadership and Service

The State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Alphonsus Ogar Eba, Esq., JP, along with the entire State Executive Committee, has extended warm birthday wishes to Rt. Hon. Sylvester Agabi Jnr, the Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly.
In a statement signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Edem Inyang, JP, on 13th September 2025, the APC leadership praised Agabi Jnr for his unwavering commitment to public service and his remarkable contributions to the party’s growth and governance in the state.
A Journey Marked by Dedication and Vision
The statement recalled Rt. Hon. Agabi Jnr’s remarkable political journey, beginning from his early days as a Councilor and Leader of the Legislative Council, where he quickly distinguished himself as a young leader with vision and integrity.
His subsequent appointment as Special Adviser on International Donor Development Corporation to the immediate past governor, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, was described as a period marked by “impactful service and commitment to the welfare of the people.”
“Your journey in public service, from your early days as a Councilor and Leader of Legislative Council, where you set a high standard for visionary leadership, to your impactful tenure as Special Adviser, has been marked by dedication, integrity, and a passion for the welfare of the people,” the statement read in part.
Exemplary Leadership in the Legislature
As the current Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, the APC leadership commended Rt. Hon. Agabi Jnr for what it described as “true statesmanship.”
“You continue to exemplify true statesmanship. Your unwavering commitment to your duties, your prioritization of the people’s interests, and your remarkable contributions to the Legislative arm of Government have earned you admiration and respect across the state,” the statement added.
The party further noted that Agabi Jnr embodies the very essence of servant leadership, combining integrity, compassion, and steadfast resolve in the discharge of his duties.
Contributions to APC’s Political Success
Beyond legislative responsibilities, the APC leadership credited Rt. Hon. Agabi Jnr with playing a crucial role in the party’s success during the last general elections.
“We remain deeply grateful for your steadfast support and immense contributions to the success of our great party in the last general elections. Your political wisdom, strategic insight, and exemplary leadership were crucial to our collective victories at the polls,” the statement read.
