Sean “Diddy” Combs will remain in jail as his sex trafficking trial is set for May 5, 2025. The music mogul appeared before Judge Arun Subramanian on October 10, following his arrest at a New York City hotel on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and engaging in prostitution.
During the status hearing, Subramanian, who recently took over the case from Judge Andrew L. Carter Jr., confirmed the trial date. This hearing occurred a day after Combs’ attorneys filed a new appeal for bail, arguing that concerns he might intimidate witnesses were unfounded.

The filing, submitted on October 9, criticized Judge Carter’s earlier denial of bail as speculative rather than evidence-based. Combs’ lawyers, Alexandra A.E. Shapiro and Jason A. Driscoll, emphasized that the rapper’s recent travel to New York to face charges, along with their proposed monitoring measures—including restricted access to phones and the internet—supported his case for release. They reiterated that Combs is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
