Doris Ogala Defends Orji Uzor Kalu Over Criticism of Abia Governor Alex Otti
Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has publicly thrown her weight behind Senator Orji Uzor Kalu following his recent criticism of Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, igniting fresh political debate both online and within the state.

The controversy began after the former Abia governor and current senator openly accused Governor Otti of being largely inactive since assuming office. Senator Kalu alleged that the present administration has failed to initiate major development projects, claiming instead that it is merely repainting and showcasing infrastructure originally executed during his tenure as governor.
According to Kalu, the roads currently being celebrated by the Abia State Government were constructed under his administration and are only receiving cosmetic attention, rather than representing new capital projects.
Reacting to the senator’s remarks, Doris Ogala took to her Instagram page to defend him, describing Orji Uzor Kalu as “my boss” and insisting that his claims were factual and should not be dismissed.
“What my boss, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, said about Governor Alex Otti is true. Alex Otti is only repainting roads that were originally built by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu,” Ogala wrote.
The actress maintained that the projects currently being showcased by the present administration were not new, arguing that they were largely inherited from Kalu’s era as governor of Abia State.
Her comments quickly went viral, sparking mixed reactions across social media platforms. While some users praised her for what they described as “speaking the truth” and standing firmly by her political ally, others criticised her stance, accusing her of downplaying the efforts of the current administration and injecting celebrity influence into political discourse.
The exchange has further fuelled ongoing political rivalry in Abia State, as supporters of both leaders continue to trade words over the pace and substance of governance under Governor Otti.
