Ebonyi Community Banishes 20-Year-Old After He Confesses to Killing Mother

In a shocking incident that has left the community of Ohatekwe Ukawu in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State reeling, a 20-year-old man, Damian Oforbuike, has been banished by locals after allegedly killing his mother, Onyemaechi.

A group of people gathered in an outdoor setting, with one individual prominently in the foreground, appearing dirty and wearing a torn shirt. Others are seen in the background, some wearing traditional attire.

Disturbing Confession

Akahi News gathered that Oforbuike attacked his mother with a machete over the weekend, sparking fear and mourning across the community. In a viral video recorded during a public parade, the suspect reportedly confessed to the act, claiming he committed the crime because his mother refused to bathe him and declined to provide funds for a barbing salon for his brother who had completed apprenticeship.

“I killed my mother because she refused to bathe me and also refused to rent a shop for my brother who learned barbing and needed money to start,” Oforbuike said.
