IGP Egbetokun Represents Nigeria at Global Public Security Cooperation Forum in China

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, is currently leading a high-level Nigerian delegation to the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (GPSCF) holding from 16th to 18th September 2025 in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, People’s Republic of China.
The prestigious event, hosted at the invitation of the Chinese Government, brings together Ministers of Security, Chiefs of Police, law enforcement chiefs, and global security experts to deliberate on collective strategies to combat transnational crime, enhance partnerships, and promote global public safety.
Nigeria to Deliver Keynote on Combating Transnational Crime
As part of the forum’s highlights, IGP Egbetokun is scheduled to deliver a Keynote Address on 18th September 2025 on the theme: “Combating Transnational Crime and Countermeasures.” His presentation will shed light on Nigeria’s ongoing policing reforms, innovative crime-fighting strategies, and the country’s collaborative efforts with international partners to disrupt cross-border criminal activities and protect communities.
Strengthening Bilateral Security Ties with China
Ahead of the forum, the Inspector-General is expected to meet with China’s Deputy Minister of Public Security, Mr. Qi Yanjun, on 15th September 2025. The bilateral discussions will focus on boosting intelligence sharing, enhancing security cooperation, building law enforcement capacity, and strengthening overall policing ties between Nigeria and China.
