Marriage, Family and Human Life Commission Unveils 2025 Pastoral Activities
Singles’ Weekend with the Lord Takes Top Priority in May.
The Marriage, Family and Human Life Commission of the Catholic Diocese of Osogbo has officially released its 2025 calendar of events, with a strong focus on spiritual growth, family enrichment, and faith-based formation. At the forefront of the annual program is the eagerly anticipated Singles’ Weekend with the Lord, scheduled to hold from Friday, May 16th to Sunday, May 18th, 2025. This retreat is designed to offer singles a profound opportunity for spiritual renewal, discernment, and reflection in the presence of the Lord.
The Commission, under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Patrick Kunle Ajayi, has also rolled out a comprehensive Married Couples’ Training Program spread across four phases in the year. The phases are as follows:
- First Phase: April 31st – May 1st
- Second Phase: July 18th – 19th
- Third Phase: September 19th – 20th
- Fourth Phase: November 21st – 22nd
Each session will offer practical guidance, spiritual support, and doctrinal insight to help couples grow in unity, fidelity, and mutual understanding within the vocation of marriage.
In addition, the much-loved Couples’ Weekend with the Lord will take place from August 15th to 17th, 2025. This weekend retreat invites couples to renew their marital vows, deepen their relationship with God and one another, and build stronger Catholic homes rooted in love and faith.
The announcement was made by Rev. Fr. Patrick Kunle Ajayi, Priest Coordinator and Chaplain of the Marriage, Family and Human Life Commission, Osogbo Catholic Diocese. He also serves as the Parish Priest of St. Mary Catholic Pro-Cathedral, Ilesa.
According to Fr. Ajayi, the Commission’s 2025 programs aim to foster “holiness in relationships, healing in families, and hope for the future,” ensuring that the people of God are equipped to face contemporary challenges with faith and unity.
