Mr. Olawale Lawrence Ojomuyide Celebrates Retirement from OAU with Thanksgiving

The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, has bid farewell to one of its long-serving and dedicated staff, Mr. Olawale Lawrence Ojomuyide, who officially retired after years of meritorious service as the Academic Staff Establishment Director of Personnel Affairs.
In an atmosphere of joy and gratitude, Mr. Ojomuyide, a devout Catholic, offered thanks to God for guiding him through his career journey and sustaining him in good health. The celebration took place on Sunday, 10th August 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Igboya, Ile-Ife, where he attended a special Thanksgiving Mass accompanied by family, friends, and loved ones.

Beaming with joy, the celebrant danced alongside his guests, expressing deep appreciation for God’s unfailing grace throughout his years of service. His thanksgiving was not only a personal moment of reflection but also a public testament to faith, resilience, and dedication to both work and God.
Delivering his prayers and goodwill message, the Priest in Charge, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Michael Okodua, commended Mr. Ojomuyide’s years of service and faithfulness, asking God to grant him long life, divine protection, and continued blessings in retirement. “As you retire, you will not die; God will protect you and your family,” Msgr. Okodua prayed.
Mr. Ojomuyide’s retirement marks the close of a significant chapter in the history of OAU’s administrative excellence, while opening a new phase in his life — one that he has chosen to begin with thanksgiving and trust in God’s guidance.
