Historic Ceremony Unites Community
The Yala Local Government chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has inaugurated the newly elected executives of the Abachor-Okpame Youth Forum in a colourful ceremony that drew traditional rulers, chiefs, community leaders, and youths from across Yala and neighbouring regions.
The event, held earlier today, was led by the NYCN Yala Coordinator, Comrade Simeon Igbang, alongside other stakeholders and council executives.
Newly Elected EXCOs Take Oath of Leadership
Comrade Ogbeche Aduma was officially sworn in as the Chairman of Abachor-Okpame Youth Forum, alongside his executive members, in what community leaders described as a historic milestone. The gathering, marked by cultural displays and widespread participation, underscored the significance of youth leadership in driving peace and development within the community.
Leaders Call for Peace and Unity
In his remarks, Comrade Simeon Igbang expressed gratitude to the people of Abachor-Okpame for their confidence in the new leaders and commended the peaceful atmosphere that has prevailed in recent years.
“I urge the people of Abachor-Okpame to continue to live in peace and harmony, as it is the only way to attract meaningful development,” he said.
The newly inaugurated Chairman, Comrade Ogbeche Aduma, pledged to lead with fairness, peace, and a strong focus on community progress.
“I accept this great responsibility with humility and a heart set on unity. I shall lead with peace and create a favourable pathway for progress,” he assured.
Former NYCN Yala Coordinator, Comrade Okayi Abraham, also gave a passionate address, urging the community to embrace absolute peace as a foundation for growth.
Presentation of Certificates Marks High Point
The highlight of the ceremony was the official presentation of certificates of return to the new executives, formally recognising their mandate to serve.
The event concluded with a renewed call for collective responsibility among youths and stakeholders to strengthen peace, cultural heritage, and development in Abachor-Okpame.
