Ogun Residents Urged to Participate in 2026 Budget Town Hall Meetings
By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News
The Ogun State Government has called on residents across all divisions of the State to actively participate in the upcoming Town Hall Meetings designed to shape the 2026 Ogun State Budget. The initiative aims to ensure that citizens’ voices and community priorities directly influence the next fiscal plan.

Citizens to Engage Directly with the Governor
According to an official announcement from the State Government, the interactive sessions will provide residents with an opportunity to speak directly to Governor Dapo Abiodun and members of his cabinet about pressing developmental needs in their respective areas.
The meetings are part of the government’s inclusive budgeting process, which seeks to align fiscal planning with grassroots realities and ensure that the 2026 budget reflects the genuine needs of the people.

Platform for Community Priorities
Residents are urged to seize this opportunity to express their community’s needs — whether in road infrastructure, schools, healthcare, jobs, electricity, or water supply. The Town Hall platform, Akahi News gathered, allows participants to speak directly with the executive arm of government rather than through legislators or local government officials.
The State Government emphasised that citizen participation is vital to ensure equitable resource allocation and sustainable development across Ogun’s urban and rural communities.
A Call for Active Participation
As preparations for the 2026 budget gather pace, citizens’ contributions at the Town Hall sessions will form a key part of the planning framework. The government believes that an open dialogue between leaders and the governed will foster transparency, accountability, and better policy outcomes.
Residents are therefore encouraged to attend, engage, and make their voices count in building a more inclusive and prosperous Ogun State.
