Onyejeocha Predicts South-East Will Deliver Votes En Bloc for Tinubu in 2027

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, has expressed confidence that the five South-East states will deliver their votes en bloc for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Mrs Onyejeocha, a former House of Representatives member from Umunneochi/Isuikwuato Federal Constituency, made the remarks during an interaction with journalists on the sidelines of the 18th edition of her free medical and surgery outreach at the Nkeiruka Onyejeocha Medical Centre, Amuda-Isuochi, in Umunneochi Local Government Area, Abia State.
According to the minister, the reforms initiated by President Tinubu are already impacting the nation positively, and for their full benefits to be realised, the President deserves eight years in office. She stated, “We are supporting our president, and I know that he will get 100 per cent votes in the South-East in 2027. Abia is a progressive state, and I know that my party, the APC, will do well in the state.”
Beyond politics, Mrs Onyejeocha highlighted the medical outreach initiative as a reflection of her commitment to improving healthcare access, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Originally planned as a week-long event starting on Monday, the outreach was extended to accommodate the large turnout.
The programme provided free cervical cancer screenings, laboratory services, dental services, and surgeries for conditions including hernia, hydrocele, cataract, and lipoma. Onyejeocha emphasised, “It’s not like, oh you are helping the government; I’m helping myself because a healthy community is a wealthy community. If you have a lot of people that are sick, you are not going to get much because every weekend you are attending burials, you are losing much.”
The minister stressed that the initiative complements government efforts, adding value to ongoing development and healthcare programmes.
