The Senior Pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Agbaje Ayodeji, has charged Christians not to become comfortable with past achievements, warning that spiritual stagnation often begins when believers stop pursuing growth, productivity, and soul winning.
Delivering his Sunday reflection for May 10, 2026, the cleric urged Christians to align themselves with God’s present agenda, stressing that Heaven is more interested in fruitfulness than complacency.
Quoting from the book of John 15:2, Pastor Ayodeji declared that every believer must remain spiritually productive and intentional in advancing God’s kingdom.
According to him, many churches and believers lose spiritual momentum because they become satisfied with old testimonies and previous victories instead of pressing for greater impact.

“Don’t Be Satisfied With Past Results”
Speaking during the reflection, Pastor Ayodeji noted that one of the major reasons soul winning declines is the dangerous habit of celebrating past accomplishments while neglecting present responsibilities.
“Don’t be satisfied with what you have attained. Be productive and align with God’s current agenda,” the pastor charged.
He explained that Christianity is not designed for spiritual maintenance alone but for continuous growth and expansion. According to him, believers must constantly seek improvement in their walk with God, ministry assignments, businesses, families, and personal lives.
Akahi News gathered that the cleric encouraged Christians to pursue fresh testimonies rather than living permanently on memories of old breakthroughs.
He warned that remaining stagnant spiritually can gradually weaken passion, vision, and effectiveness in the kingdom of God.
Loss of Compassion Weakens Evangelism
Pastor Ayodeji further identified the loss of burden for souls as another major reason harvests stop increasing in many churches.
According to him, evangelism becomes optional the moment compassion dies in the heart of believers.
“When compassion dies, evangelism becomes optional,” he stated.
The pastor urged Christians to return to genuine love for humanity, stressing that soul winning should not be limited to familiar people alone.
He challenged believers to minister not only to friends and loved ones but also to strangers and even enemies.
According to the cleric, the true nature of Christianity is revealed when believers show Christ-like compassion to all categories of people regardless of personal differences.
From Mission to Maintenance
The man of God also lamented what he described as a dangerous shift from mission to maintenance in many churches and Christian lives.
He questioned whether many believers are still focused on kingdom expansion or merely trying to preserve their current condition.
Pastor Ayodeji encouraged church leaders and members to enlarge their vision and strive for increase instead of becoming comfortable with existing numbers.
Referencing the Scriptures, he cited 1 Corinthians 14:40 while speaking on orderliness and effectiveness in ministry.
“Strive to improve the number of believers in your church and not only maintain the current number,” he advised.
The cleric added that believers must continuously improve themselves spiritually and become better than they were before.
According to him, growth is one of the clearest evidences of spiritual vitality.
Powerful Prayers for Fresh Testimonies and Divine Favour
During the prayer session, Pastor Ayodeji led worshippers in several prophetic declarations centred on restoration, increase, favour, and divine recovery.
The pastor prayed for God to restore passion for soul winning and release fresh testimonies into the lives of believers.
“Restore my passion and fresh testimony. Deliver me from satisfaction with past results. Strengthen my system, Father, and let my latter results increase,” he prayed.
He also declared victory over negative spiritual forces, praying that every wicked power withholding blessings from God’s children would release them.
“Every wicked spirit or power that has swallowed what belongs to me, vomit it in Jesus’ name,” the pastor declared.
Speaking prophetically concerning the month, Pastor Ayodeji described it as a month of favour, praying for divine blessings upon families, businesses, careers, and ministries.
“This month is a month of favour. Let my family be favoured. Let me be favoured in my business. For increase and multiplication, O Lord, enlarge us,” he prayed.
A Call for Renewed Spiritual Hunger
Observers noted that the reflection carried a strong message of spiritual renewal, kingdom productivity, and personal growth.
The sermon also served as a reminder that Christianity is not merely about preserving old experiences but about pursuing deeper intimacy with God and making greater impact continually.
For many worshippers, the message was both a warning against complacency and an encouragement to seek fresh fire, renewed compassion, and greater productivity in every area of life.
As churches across Nigeria continue to emphasise revival and soul winning, Pastor Ayodeji’s message adds to growing calls for believers to return to passionate evangelism and active kingdom service.
