Rev. Father Peter Adeyemi’s New Month Prayer: August 1st, 2024
Lagere, Ile-Ife – Rev. Father Peter Adeyemi, the parish priest of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Pro-Cathedral Church, delivered his monthly prayer on August 1st, 2024, from his prayer desk. The cleric began with a heartfelt greeting to his congregation:
“Good morning my dear people of God.
Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end amen.”
Father Adeyemi led the faithful in a prayer of thanksgiving and supplication, expressing gratitude for the new month and seeking divine guidance:
“Let us pray:
Almighty God, with faith and humility, we thank you for the gift of this new month of August. Thank you for sparing our lives and for blessing us with good health to be able to live comfortably in the world. We are grateful for the good things you have prepared for us in the new month. All we have to say is thank you, Lord.
Lord Jesus, as you have enabled us to begin this month, may your light rise in our hearts; may it shine in charity to the world. Help us to imitate your saints in their holiness, perfection, and righteousness. May we share their rewards at the end of our lives.
Lord God, as we go about our activities in the new month, let your divine presence be with us. Make us productive and fruitful in all our activities. Grant success to the work of our hands. At the end of this month of August, may we have many reasons to glorify your holy name.
We make our prayer through Christ our Lord. Praying for your intentions.”
Rev. Fr Peter Adeyemi concluded his message with blessings for his parishioners, encouraging them to embrace the month with faith and optimism.
