September New Month Message by Rev. Fr Pius Odekunle

As the calendar turns to a new month, Rev. Fr Pius Odekunle, Parish Priest of St Peter’s Catholic Parish, Olode, Osun State, has sent a heartfelt message of hope, faith, and encouragement to the faithful and to all who look forward to divine renewal in September.
Fr Odekunle, who is widely known for his spirit-filled Monthly Vigil that has become a beacon of light to many seeking healing, deliverance, and God’s touch, reminded believers that each new month is a gift and an opportunity for a fresh beginning.
In his words:
“Believe in yourself and your abilities. September is a fresh start, a new chance to shine and make your dreams come true. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. May the Almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Happy New Month!”
A Call to Trust in God’s Promises
Drawing from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” Fr Odekunle urged Christians to walk into September with renewed confidence, trusting not in their own strength but in the unfailing grace of God. He emphasised that self-belief, when anchored in faith, opens doors to divine possibilities.
He further pointed to Jeremiah 29:11, reminding the faithful that God’s plan is always one of hope and a future, even when life’s challenges attempt to cloud the path ahead.
A Fresh Start for the Faithful
The priest encouraged the faithful to let go of the burdens of the past months and embrace September as a clean slate. According to him, God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22–23), and so every new month should be welcomed as a moment to reset, rekindle faith, and pursue life’s dreams with courage.
Upcoming September Vigil
Fr Odekunle also announced that this Friday, 5th of September 2025, marks another edition of the Parish’s Monthly Vigil, a spiritual gathering that continues to draw worshippers from near and far. Many testify to experiencing God’s healing power, deliverance, and life-transforming messages during these vigils.
As the faithful prepare, he called on all participants to come with expectant hearts, believing that the same God who parted the Red Sea and healed the sick in the Gospels is still working miracles today.

Concluding his message, Fr Odekunle invoked God’s blessing upon all:
“May September be filled with peace, breakthroughs, and testimonies in your families, your work, and your spiritual life. May the Almighty God bless you abundantly, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
