According to information gathered by Akahi News, the young girl had been sent to spend the recently concluded holiday period with her father, who is separated from the mother. However, tragedy struck when the mother requested her daughter’s return to resume school, only to be informed that the child had reportedly fallen sick and died.

Secret Burial Sparks Outrage

In a development that has sparked anger and suspicion, the grieving mother was also told that her daughter had already been buried in Delta State — without her knowledge or consent.

Family sources told Akahi News that the mother was left devastated, questioning why she was not informed of her daughter’s illness or involved in the burial arrangements.

A distressed woman speaks passionately on camera, expressing her grief over the loss of her daughter. Two inset images show a man and a young girl.

“This is beyond painful,” a relative said. “How could they bury her child without telling her? She deserved to be there. She deserved to know what really happened.”

Calls for Investigation

Human rights advocates and concerned citizens have taken to social media, demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death and burial.

Many commentators argue that the case raises troubling questions about parental rights, child welfare, and possible negligence.

A heartbroken mother speaks out about her deceased daughter, Davina, with emotional text on the image asking for justice. Images of a young girl and a man are shown alongside her.

“We need to know if this child received proper medical care,” a child rights activist in Delta State told Akahi News. “Was the mother deliberately kept in the dark? Did anyone try to reach her before the burial? These are serious concerns that authorities must address.”

Police Yet to Comment

As of press time, the Delta State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident. However, legal experts say the mother has the right to demand a coroner’s inquest to determine the cause of death and whether there was any foul play.

“This matter cannot just end with a secret burial,” lawyer and women’s rights advocate Barr. Uche Nwosu told Akahi News. “The authorities must get to the bottom of this to prevent similar cases in the future.”

Growing Demand for Justice

Across social media platforms, Nigerians have expressed sympathy for the mother while calling on the Ministry of Women Affairs and relevant child protection agencies to intervene.

“This is not just a family issue,” one commenter wrote. “It is about the rights of a mother, the dignity of a child, and the accountability of everyone involved.”

As the story continues to unfold, stakeholders insist that a full investigation is the only way to provide closure for the grieving mother and ensure justice for the deceased girl.
