VDM Calls Out Dangote Over Truck Accident That Crushed Auchi Polytechnic Student

Human rights advocate and social media personality, Very Dark Man (VDM), has publicly called on Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, to take full responsibility after a Dangote truck allegedly ran over a female student of Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, leaving her critically injured.
In a post accompanied by a video on his official Facebook page, VDM directly addressed Dangote, accusing the company’s drivers of habitual recklessness and the firm of avoiding accountability in such incidents.
“Sir, with all due respect, when will your drivers stop sacrificing Nigerians?” VDM wrote. “You are an influential and powerful man — the richest in Africa, in fact — but the carelessness of your drivers is causing untimely deaths of our young people and bringing pain to a lot of families.”
According to VDM, the victim, identified as Otabar Bodon Ruth, was crushed by a Dangote truck on her way out of the school premises at about 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The accident reportedly occurred in front of Auchi Polytechnic, with the student now battling for her life in a hospital in Jattu, Edo State.
VDM revealed that the impact of the accident resulted in Ruth losing one of her legs, alongside severe internal injuries. He further alleged that in similar past incidents, Dangote Group often opted to “cover up” such cases rather than take full responsibility.
“Please sir, we need you to take full responsibility for the actions of your truck driver,” VDM appealed. “We need justice for Ruth. I may not be rich, but I am human, and these victims are human — not animals.”
The statement has since sparked a wave of reactions online, with many Nigerians demanding swift justice and adequate compensation for the injured student.
As of press time, Dangote Group has not issued an official statement regarding the accident.
