A Viral Claim Sparks Public Attention
Social media activist Martin Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has stirred fresh controversy online after alleging that businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, widely known as BLord, has been remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.
In a statement shared via his official Facebook page, VDM claimed that BLord was arraigned on April 1, 2026, before a Federal High Court in Abuja on multiple charges and subsequently remanded for 26 days pending further proceedings.
Akahi News gathered that the activist also posted updates suggesting he was on his way to Kuje, further amplifying public interest in the matter.

Allegations of Identity Misuse and False Endorsement
Central to VDM’s claims are allegations of impersonation and unauthorised use of his identity for promotional purposes. According to him, BLord allegedly:
- Forged flight tickets bearing his name
- Claimed he (VDM) would attend a product launch in Onitsha
- Publicly stated that a ₦500 million ambassadorial deal had been sealed
- Used his image on billboards and promotional materials without consent
- Allegedly linked him to the endorsement of a digital payment platform
VDM firmly denied all claims, insisting that he does not engage in advertising or promotional endorsements. He further stated that he has rejected ambassadorial deals reportedly worth over ₦700 million in the past, maintaining that his platform is reserved for what he described as “meaningful causes.”
These assertions, while widely circulated online, remain allegations at this stage and are yet to be independently verified through official court documents or statements from relevant authorities.
Legal Questions and Public Curiosity
The reported arraignment and remand of BLord have raised several legal and ethical questions among observers.
If proven, the allegations could touch on serious issues such as identity misrepresentation, fraudulent claims, and reputational damage. However, legal experts often caution that social media narratives can sometimes run ahead of verified facts, especially in high-profile disputes involving public figures.
This leads to an important reflection:
In an age where digital influence carries immense power, who truly controls the narrative — the courts or the court of public opinion?
The Power and Peril of Online Influence
The situation highlights a broader societal concern — the increasing intersection between digital fame, business promotion, and legal accountability.
Influencers like VDM command large audiences, and their statements can shape public perception almost instantly. At the same time, entrepreneurs and tech innovators often rely on aggressive marketing strategies to scale their brands.
But where is the line drawn?
Can the pursuit of visibility justify the use of another person’s identity without explicit consent?
And in a world driven by clicks and impressions, has truth become secondary to virality?
Awaiting Official Confirmation
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from law enforcement agencies or court authorities confirming the full details of the arraignment or the specific charges involved.
Akahi News learnt that Nigerians are keenly awaiting clarity, particularly regarding the legal proceedings and whether the claims made online align with the facts presented in court.
Between Allegation and Justice
The unfolding situation between VDM and BLord underscores the fragile balance between reputation, influence, and the rule of law in Nigeria’s evolving digital space.
While the allegations are serious and have captured widespread attention, the principle of due process remains paramount. Only the courts can determine guilt or innocence.
Until then, the public is left to reflect:
Is social media becoming a tool for justice, or a battleground where truth is shaped by the loudest voice?
As developments continue, Akahi News will monitor the situation closely, providing verified updates as they emerge.
