In a significant administrative move, Governor Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, of Akwa Ibom State has ordered the dissolution of all statutory and non-statutory Boards and Commissions across the state, effective from October 3, 2025.

The directive, formalised in a release signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, cites the powers vested in the Governor under Section 6 of the Statutory Boards (Special Provisions) Law 2023.

Governor Eno expressed gratitude to the Chairmen and Members of the dissolved entities for their service, particularly in advancing the state’s ARISE Agenda. He wished them success in their future endeavours, acknowledging their contributions to governance and public administration.

Handover Instructions

As Akahi News gathered, the statement also mandated all affected officials to hand over government property in their possession to the most senior civil servant within their respective Boards and Commissions, ensuring continuity and proper management of state resources.

The move is seen by political analysts as part of the Governor’s efforts to restructure state governance and strengthen administrative efficiency ahead of upcoming initiatives in Akwa Ibom State.
