The live session was hosted by Mr Iyaji Joseph of Akahi News and also featured Mr. Abraham Kadiri, a Financial Economist and Blogger. Together, they examined the avenues available to Yala youth to influence governance constructively.

Bar. Ipuole began by outlining the legal frameworks empowering youth to drive positive change and hold public officeholders accountable. He highlighted specific institutions that provide avenues for youth to initiate legal actions against corruption, stressing that active civic engagement is essential to maintaining good governance.

When discussing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for evaluating governance, Bar. Ipuole used practical metrics such as infrastructure development, agricultural growth, and community engagement to illustrate what effective governance should look like. These indicators, he explained, are essential for tracking progress and identifying areas that require attention.

Despite Yala diverse ethnic composition, Bar. Ipuole emphasized that the intelligence and resourcefulness of Yala youth equip them to advocate for good governance through constructive means. However, he cautioned against the misuse of social media as a platform for “witch-hunting” or spreading unverified information, warning that such actions can be counterproductive to the cause of accountability. Instead, he urged youth to leverage social media responsibly to amplify positive initiatives and foster dialogue.
