Gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has revealed plans to celebrate his birthday in a special way—by spending it with inmates at the Kirikiri Medium Security Prison in Lagos.
Announcing the initiative on Instagram on Tuesday, Bassey noted that the celebration would feature a one-day Halleluyah Challenge within the prison. “Tomorrow for my birthday, I praise and celebrate with my brethren in the prisons!” he wrote.
The Hallelujah Challenge, a global worship movement led by Bassey, has gained recognition for uniting thousands in worship and prayer sessions online. Extending the movement to Kirikiri inmates underscores Bassey’s commitment to spreading hope and the message of the gospel beyond conventional boundaries.
