Odey Brian Mourns Late Hon. Dr. Gabe Ugor at Funeral in Yala
The Member representing Yala 1 State Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Public Accounts in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Odey Brian, has expressed heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Hon. Dr. Gabe Ugor, former Chairman of Yala Local Government Area, during his funeral ceremony held at Alifokpa Yache in Yala Local Government Area.

Hon. Odey Brian joined a large gathering of political leaders, community stakeholders, and well-wishers from across Cross River State to pay their final respects to the departed elder statesman. He described the passing of Hon. Ugor as a painful and irreparable loss, not only to his immediate family but also to the entire Yala nation and Cross River State at large.
A Life of Service and Commitment to Yala
Speaking while condoling with the bereaved family, Hon. Odey Brian paid glowing tribute to the late Hon. Dr. Gabe Ugor, describing him as a committed public servant, a seasoned administrator, and a compassionate leader whose tenure as Chairman of Yala Local Government Area was marked by people-oriented governance and selfless service.
According to Hon. Odey Brian, the late former council chairman dedicated his life to grassroots development, unity, and the overall progress of Yala communities, earning the respect and admiration of many during his lifetime.
“Hon. Dr. Gabe Ugor lived a life of service, humility, and dedication to the growth of Yala. His contributions to grassroots development and his passion for unity will not be forgotten. This is indeed a great loss to Yala, Cross River State, and all of us who had the privilege of working with him,” he said.
Akahi News gathered that Hon. Odey Brian further urged members of the Ugor family to take solace in the enduring legacy left behind by the late public servant, noting that his good works and positive impact on humanity would continue to speak long after his passing.
“Though we mourn his passing, we are comforted by the fact that he lived an impactful life. May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may God grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” he added.
