Shock as Primate Ayodele Speaks on Genocide and U.S. Interest in Nigeria
Many Nigerians have expressed shock following a controversial statement credited to the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, regarding U.S. President Donald Trump’s alleged interest in Nigeria’s internal crisis.
Akahi News learnt that the cleric cautioned that President Trump’s sudden involvement in discussions about genocide in Nigeria could be driven by selfish political and economic motives rather than genuine humanitarian concern.

Reacting to the development, some observers expressed disbelief at the cleric’s tone. “Let’s forget about genocide? And no one walked out of that church??!” one observer exclaimed, expressing surprise that such a grave issue could be treated lightly.
Ayodele: Trump’s Interest Is Political, Not Humanitarian
Primate Ayodele reportedly described President Trump as selfish, alleging that he intends to use the genocide narrative as an avenue to gain control of Nigeria’s government and its vast resources.
According to the cleric, if the United States were to invade Nigeria under such pretexts, the entire African continent would face serious consequences.
“President Donald Trump is selfish. He wants to use the avenue to take over Nigeria’s government and its resources. If they invade Nigeria with the U.S. Army, all African countries will be in trouble, and we will be enslaved again,” he was quoted as saying.
Cleric Cautions Tinubu and African Leaders
The outspoken prophet also warned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to remain vigilant against any form of Western interference disguised as humanitarian support.
Akahi News gathered that Ayodele urged African nations to take responsibility for their own security challenges rather than depend on Western powers that may have hidden agendas.
He further cautioned that once any foreign military gains access to Nigeria, it could trigger a wave of political and economic domination across Africa.
“If America succeeds in bringing its army into Nigeria, they won’t stop there. The next target will be other African nations. We must not allow history to repeat itself,” Ayodele warned.
Analysts React
Analysts who spoke with Akahi News observed that Ayodele’s remarks reflect growing concerns about neocolonial ambitions being pursued under the guise of protecting democracy, religion, or human rights.
They noted that while international attention on Nigeria’s security crisis is understandable, external intervention could endanger national sovereignty and regional stability.
Primate Elijah Ayodele’s comments have reignited public debate on the role of global powers in Africa’s affairs. His warning highlights the importance of internal solutions, continental unity, and vigilance against potential exploitation disguised as assistance.
As tensions around Nigeria’s internal security continue to draw international attention, Ayodele’s message serves as a strong reminder that Africa’s destiny must remain in African hands.
