VDM Slams Nigerian Leaders Over Shocking Video of Kidnapped School Children

Social critic and activist, Verydarkman (VDM), has issued a strong call to President Bola Tinubu and top security chiefs over a deeply disturbing video showing kidnapped school children being held at gunpoint in the bush and forced to hold a human skull.

VDM, who shared the footage on his official Facebook page, expressed outrage at the harrowing scene, which he said highlights the deteriorating state of security in Nigeria. In his post, he directly questioned the president’s leadership and the apparent inaction of the nation’s security agencies.

“Officialasiwajubat, this is the country you are president over? A country where your service chiefs are not making any progress in their positions and in all of this, what everyone cares about is 2027 elections… we don’t have a country anymore,” VDM wrote.

The activist condemned what he described as a “total collapse” of the state’s responsibility to protect its citizens, particularly vulnerable school children, who continue to face abductions in various parts of the country. He also criticised the political class for prioritising electoral ambitions over urgent security reforms.

The video, which has since gone viral, has sparked public outrage and renewed calls for immediate, decisive action to rescue the victims and dismantle the kidnapping networks operating across the nation.

Security experts have described the footage as a grim reminder of Nigeria’s worsening security crisis, urging the government to adopt more aggressive measures to combat terrorism, banditry, and the targeting of school children.

As of press time, there has been no official response from the Presidency or the service chiefs regarding VDM’s statement or the authenticity of the video.
