Yala Council Boss Dismisses Social Media Reports of Impeachment Notice
By Joseph Iyaji | Akahi News
The Executive Chairman of Yala Local Government Area, Hon. Elder Dr Fred Okem, has debunked rumours circulating on social media that he has been served an impeachment notice by councillors of the council.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Emmanuel Unah, on Tuesday, Akahi News gathered that the impeachment claims were false and misleading, stressing that such notices are not served through social media platforms.
“The Chairman, Dr Fred Okem, is currently in a meeting with the Governor of Cross River State and has neither seen nor received any such notice,” the statement clarified. “When officially briefed on the matter, the Chairman will address the situation appropriately. For now, there is no cause for alarm.”
The statement further urged the public to disregard the circulating reports, describing them as unfounded and aimed at creating unnecessary tension within the local government.
