The accused, comprising 32 men and 2 women, were arrested over the weekend during a coordinated enforcement operation jointly carried out by operatives of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) and the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). The operation targeted the clearance and reclamation of the expressway median, which had been heavily encroached upon by traders erecting unauthorized structures.

Authorities revealed that among those arrested were individuals suspected of engaging in criminal activities under the guise of street trading. Makeshift sheds on the median reportedly served as hideouts for these miscreants, posing serious security concerns to residents and commuters in the area.
